Thanksgiving 2020

A note from your publisher.

Thanksgiving 2020 gives us a choice.  This year has proven to be something else for everyone and most would place the adjectives in the negative categories.  Now we have arrived to the one day of the year that we are meant to focus on the good things that have happened and the things for which we are grateful.

I believe that today is the most critical Thanksgiving our country and possibly the world has encountered.  Now more than ever we need to "look on the brighter side", "see the cup as half full" and "see the silver linings".  The dark clouds of division, fear, sickness and death are seeking to envelope each of us and this is a day that we can truly take a step back and shine the light of truth into our lives and those around us.

For those of us coming into the holidays without a dear loved one I pray the cherished memories of love and happiness outweigh the heaviness of grief.  Honor their life with laughter in spite of the tears, choosing to be grateful for the time we had with them.

For those of us battling financial struggles I pray the pressure of the materialistic season is overcome by an overabundance of new memories and traditions as we spend time with loved ones.  Good solid quality time is exponentially more valuable than any trinkets could come close to being.

When the thoughts and feelings of any negativity start to creep in I pray that we are able to recognize them and immediately turn them into a moment of thankfulness.

While this year has been hard for us all it has given us the opportunity to be our strongest selves, knowing that we are choosing to overcome and not be enveloped by the chaos around us.

Let this be a Thanksgiving that would make our ancestors proud!
