Hello May!

Our Top 3 Picks for Outdoor Play in the Chattahoochee Valley

By Heather Raulston, Editor & Publisher Macaroni Kid Columbus May 1, 2019

I don't know about y'all, but I'm super excited that May has arrived!  Uzziah is officially 3 months old, the weather is warming back up and I'm working my way back into things.  This week I will be restarting my weight loss journey.  I had lost 40 lbs prior to becoming pregnant and I'm looking forward to seeing the numbers decreasing again!  Next I'll be deciding on my new work schedule.  One of the joys of having my own business is being able to work my schedule around our family and our priorities.  With Mac Kid I get the added bonus of my work including our family time!

Speaking of which, our family has spent the last few days enjoying each other and our pond with lots of fishing and some swimming.  The weather this past weekend has been so great and we love just about anything to do with the outdoors.  How about your family?  If you're looking to get out and about here are three of our favorites!

1. F. D. Roosevelt State Park - This park goes above and beyond to offer so many events every month!  Add to that the awesome trails, campgrounds and other facilities and this is sure to be a favorite for your family also!

2. Providence Canyon -  Not everyone can just load up and head to Arizona so this is definitely and great second choice.  Providence Canyon is also known as Georgia's "Little Grand Canyon".  Great for hiking, picnics and tons of educational opportunities.  The trails vary greatly in difficulty and be sure to bring lots of water.

3. Columbus Riverwalk - This is a 15 mile stretch perfect for walking, biking, running, etc.  Several different access points allow it to be broken up into smaller portions or combined with other attractions along the river.  My oldest daughters favorite part is the Woodruff Riverfront Park off of Bay Ave.  Tons of things for the kids including a musical section and splash pad.
